Description
The Mega Tube jig head is designed to give large tubes a bulky upfront profile and allow the angler to position it inside the tube for a horizontal presentation. The heavier weight of this jig gives anglers better control of large tubes and twister tails as they fall through the water column.
It features an 8/0 heavy wire Gamakatsu hook with a 90-degree line tie. This hook is built to withstand battles from the largest predator fish, and its needle-sharp point penetrates easily.
Because of its extra bulky body design and long hook shaft, the Mega Tube best fits large 5.5” – 7” tubes. These tube jig heads are also hand-poured and trimmed to ensure that there are no burrs and rough edges that could potentially tear up your soft plastics.
Whether you’re fishing fresh water, salt water, ice fishing, or deep water jigging, this versatile jig head is perfect for helping hook and land your next catch.
Tools For Success:
Suggested Equipment:
- Rod: Medium Heavy or Heavy Power Rod with Moderate Fast Action. This rod style gives you precise control over the heavy lure’s action and the power needed to land your catches, while its responsiveness absorbs the shock when a big fish strikes, runs, and pulls.
- Line: 10-15 lb Fluorocarbon Line or 20-30 lb Braided Line with a 10-15 lb Fluorocarbon leader.
Hookset:
- Hook Point: Needle Point This hook has an ultra-sharp needle-point tip, but we recommend a strong hookset to push the barb past the bony structure of the fish’s mouth.
*These recommendations are tailored to the weight, style, hook point, and target freshwater species these jigs were designed for. Use them as a starting guide and fine-tune as you get a feel for how the jig performs.
