Description
The Short 90° tube jig head is the go-to head for vertical jigging with 2”-3” tubes. The traditional cylinder-shaped head design, along with a 90° line tie of the Short 90° jig head, helps hold the tube jig horizontally in the water column, making it ideal for vertical jigging.
2” to 3” tubes work best for the sleek head design and hook length. These tube jig heads are also hand-poured and trimmed to ensure there are no burrs or sharp edges that can potentially tear up your soft plastics.
The Gamakatsu medium wire hook features a sickle-style bend, giving it less flex than a round bend hook. This feature is extremely important when landing a hard-fighting fish.
This is the perfect tube jig head for targeting a wide variety of game fish in a vertical fishing situation. Whether you’re ice fishing, jigging from your boat, kayak, or belly boat, you’ll definitely want this tube jig head on your next fishing expedition.
Tools For Success:
Suggested Equipment:
- Rod: Light to Medium Power Rod with Fast Action. This rod style offers precise control over lure action and the strength to reel in your catches, while its fast action enhances sensitivity for detecting light bites.
- Line: 6-10 lb Fluorocarbon Line or 10-20 lb Braided Line with a 6-10 lb Fluorocarbon leader.
Hookset:
- Hook Point: Needle Point This hook has an ultra-sharp needle-point tip, but we recommend a strong hookset to push the barb past the bony structure of the fish’s mouth.
