Greetings Fisher Folk,

I’m sad to be the bearer of bad news, but due to the Bridge Closure and the lack of staffing of the National Park Service (NPS) because of the closure, the Rotary Blue Mesa Fishing Tournament that was to be held on May 3-5, 2024, must be canceled.
.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it will not be possible to run this tournament. However, the NPS did offer for us to hold the tournament (if the current conditions change) in September or the first weekend in October.

Please let us know if you would be interested in a Fall tournament. The Fall Tournament would only be for 2024 (if we were able to hold it), as we would plan to have the tournament again in May 2025.

If you would like to have your registration fee transferred to the Fall tournament or as a donation to the Rotary Club’s projects, please let us know. Otherwise, we will refund your entry fee to the address on the registration form.

We know that this is a huge inconvenience, but we wanted to get all the information about the situation before we made the decision. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Get ready, anglers! The highly anticipated Blue Mesa Rotary Trout Tournament is back from May 3rd to 5th, 2024. After a hiatus due to low water levels in recent years, this beloved event is returning this spring!
Our team is thrilled to assist the Rotary Club of Gunnison with its mission to bring back this tournament! We’ve missed the excitement of the competition and the camaraderie among fellow anglers.
Trout fishing at Blue Mesa has seen significant improvements over the years, promising an exhilarating experience. We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing the impressive catches brought in and hearing stories of the ones that got away.
